Donations always welcome!

Marcus Ford graduated from Christiansburg High School in 2007 and from James Madison University in 2011.  He accepted a job in his senior year in college with Grant Thornton as a consultant in Alexandria, VA.  Sadly, Marcus and his family found out while he was a junior in college that he had a hereditary heart disease called CPVT.

Marcus passed away on March 17, 2012 in Arlington, VA from this disease.  The minutes that have passed since that day are very hard to face but we know that Marcus has a new heart now.  Because of his love for sports and how he loved running we have created the Marcus Ford Annual Run/Walk 5K Celebration which funds Marcus' annual scholarship.  We cannot think about Marcus without thinking about a celebration of the person he was and the thousands of lives that he touched.

I'm Free

by Shannon Lee Moseley

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free. I'm following the path God has chosen for me. I took His hand when I heard Him call; I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day, to laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way; I've found now peace at the end of the day. If my parting has left a void, then fill it with remembered joys. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss.  Be not burdened with times of sorrow; look for the sunshine of tomorrow. My life's been full, I savored much; good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch. Perhaps my time seems all too brief; don't lengthen your time with undue grief. Lift up your heart and peace to thee, God wanted me now - He set me free.

Marcus' Website

This website is a place to learn about Marcus, the disease CPVT, scholarships, and fundraising.

Donations come each year for the scholarship from Marcus' fraternity at James Madison University, Grant Thornton, and several friends, family, organizations and Churches. Our annual 5K celebration is our main fundraiser.

We were blessed to be able to give the first Marcus Allen Ford Memorial Scholarship in 2012 for $500. In 2017 we were able to give two $1,000 scholarships to two deserving seniors graduating at Christiansburg High School.

Thank you for visiting and enjoy all of the smiles of Marcus.
